Gradiant is the Galician Research and Development Center in Advanced Telecommunications, that was born to align university R&D capabilities with business demands. Gradiant’s main goal is the generation of ICT knowledge and its transfer to industry and society. Based in Vigo, Spain, Gradiant started operations in 2008 and has since steadily increased its staff reaching over 60 researchers as of Q3 2012. Gradiant’s ICT research and innovation activity focuses on Data Networks, Service Architectures, Communications Subsystems, Radio Resource Management, Human Sensing and Multimedia Signal Processing.
From the start, Gradiant has oriented its efforts to collaborate with European entities and create a sustainable center based on a premise: creating value from intellectual property. In the last four years, Gradiant researchers have been involved in more than one hundred projects with private companies and have applied for six international patents in security topics.
